Not a huge surprise but I feel he has been unlucky.
Has he appeared for another club this year or can he go back out to another club?
Maybe County will have a go for him.

Leaves the midfield unbalance IMO.
Hope we are planning on signing somebody on a perm deal.

Hopefully we’ve explained it and not annoyed Derby too much with the decision. We might be closer to forest but still need to keep some diplomatic relations

We've got a perfectly capable midfielder in Butcher, not to mention Macca who will come back and is better than Elsnik.

Butcher has made it clear he think he's a ten, even though he's not, and wasn't even on the bench last night (hopefully on his way). Elsnik is an 8 and is at least as good as Macca. Not to mention that Macca has had a setback and is going to be out for another four weeks.

Butcher may well be off if he wasn’t injured. Seemed strange for him not to be in the squad considering we couldn’t have Elsnik in it.
Shame to see Elsnik go, he was a steady player but comes as no surprise with the 2 new loan signings.

I thought Elsnik started well - 2 cracking goals against Crewe and then the mazy run against Northampton.
I feel his performances (not helped by starting a run of games - but that's football) haven't been to the same level in the last month or 2. Though he's not the only one he's gone "missing" recently in games.
Nice lad, wish him all the best

I just saw that about Macca. Gutting. I still think Butcher has something to offer. He's been decent most times I've seen him play.

I don’t see Butcher having any place in the squad now. Bit harsh on Elsnik but it’s understandable.

That's a shame I liked him I thought he would have had a future at Mansfield Town.
Good Luck to him hopefully see him again next season's as a permanent player for the Stags.

Yes wish him well
Been very decent player and not easy when u are a loan player to fit into a club and its not the same as being permanent and u can never be 100% behind the clubs plans and future.

Good player, but I’m not too bothered he’s gone. Also I can’t see Macca playing again this season. Hope I’m wrong!!!

Decent player but was expected with the loan situation. I’d like to see Butcher leave and a player more like Bish to come in incase he’s injured/suspended.

I'm so pleased we have a manager who can make these decisions. When you get a decent squad coming together the decisions become harder but still have to be made.
On paper and past performances who would you plump for, Grant or Elsnik - seems a no brainer.
Al the best to him but if he's good enough another club will take him on loan or he'll get into the Derby team.

I agree, I think the gaffer is relying on Macca coming back to fill that role .
Can't wait to see Macca return but also very appreciative of timis efforts. Thanks Timi.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

Sorry for the lad, good player, maybe we will see him again next season.
He is a better player than Butcher but of course we are having to pay him and Elsnik was an extra cost to the club.
If Butcher was to move this window I"d have Elsnik back in the folder immediately.

Elsnik is a much better player than Butcher. I'm sorry to see him go. I wonder if we tried to sign him permanently? He would have been a better investment than Khan.
