I see the age and think, ahhh over the hill maybe? Then realise that I played against him at school, so too must be 'over the hill'.

Dreams shattered.

I'm shocked that any Stags fan would now think that way after seeing Bishop absolutely bossing our midfield all season.

It's not true of every player, you're right though. Shouldn't be so hard on myself. ;)

Would be ideal anywhere in the back line or as cover for bishop should it be needed again

Really good shout! I'll never forget when Sir Les Robinson came back to us and was head and shoulders above any other player on the pitch week in week out!

Exactly my thoughts when I saw the suggestion. Offers a bit of versatility and covers potentially what 3 signings would, so less players to get unhappy at not being included. I presume that the signing is unlikely though.

I'm probably out on my own on this one but I would rather have Bucko back than Baptiste.
Had much the better career and been a good consistent performer too.

Always thought he was a scapegoat during our relegation season just like Jason White (who only played in about 10-12 league games out of the 46 and kept clean sheets in a good number of them too)

Bucko is a decent enough defender, he isn't, nor ever has been, anywhere near as good as Bap. Different types of defender I guess, but Bap would fit in perfectly in our current side, either as one of a back 3 or as a defensive midfielder.

I wouldn’t touch him because of his injury record.

Only started 3 games this season and I'm sure he'd take a pay cut to come home. Never say never.

Depends how you define much better career. Bap has played more Championship matches and more Premier League matches than Bucko.

Personally I think he was a liability especially in our relegation season, but fair play to him after Burton he knuckled down and somehow crafted a decent career for himself.

Baps is one of my favourites... coming off the pitch at pride park after getting battered and looking really pissed off I shouted MTFC as he walked past and he smiled at me, he loves us. Get him back

Bap played in the premiership and did well.

Bucko was average in the championship... how has he had a better career.

Not a chance. The season we went down Buxton was awful. I remember a few cheering when he got sent off at Dagenham on the last day. Baptiste saved his arse no end of times.
