Not the season to be jolly after a 6-0 defeat at Carlisle United

Oldham's closer to DF's home I'd imagine, could he be tempted with them being a bigger club than us?

I doubt it, given he's been given everything he wanted. He isn't Steve Evans you know...

Only asking Martin, is Oldham in the way to China by any chance?

Oldham are skint with a mad owner. DF will not want to go there even though it is nearer to his home. He is currently working with an excellent very supportive Chairman who has given him fantastic backing.

It would not surprise me if John Sheridan returns yet again to Boundary Park. He threatened to quit after the game against Oldham even though Carlisle won 6-0. He also exchanged angry words with Carlisle captain, Danny Grainger, during the game.

John Sheridan could be going back to the Spireites. 5/6 with SkyBet for the Chesterfield job.

A few quotes from Oldham fans:

"Near enough 40% win ratio over 30 games with zero money spent and it’s his first managerial job, absolutely absymal decision to sack him."

"Absolute joke of a decision the club is in turmoil. Why sack a manager when there's no funds to play with and Chris O'Grady & Ishmail Miller upfront?! Good run of performances, other that the 6-0, and a good 3rd round tie. The man has done no wrong."

"Ridiculous to do this. What does the chairman expect? No money for transfers and who would want to come to a club who (regularly) fail to pay their staff. All that is wrong with football these days. Instant success (with your hands tied) or you're out."

Can't see any attraction for DF to go to Oldham.

Crikey, that Sheridan interview is unbelievable after a 6-0 win! Something's definitely gone off there.

They are likely to learn the hard way that sacking your manager regularly almost always ends in tears. The Oldham fans are of course right, it's another idiotic decision, seemingly knee jerk, which makes us even more thankful we have the owner we do!
