Least amount of losses in a season

Postby Random Hero » Mon Dec 17, 2018 10:06 am

Assuming we can overcome Stevenage next week (tough game!), we will go into Christmas having lost just once all season - a remarkable achievement.

Is this our best ever start to a season? (looking at amount of games lost) Does someone have the stats? I'd imagine most teams who have lost only once by Christmas end up being promoted!

We definitely had a great run at the end of season 75/76 and the start of 76/77. We were also unbeaten at home throughout 74/75, you used to go to the games thinking how many are we going to win by today - a draw was a shock!

Teams go unbeaten does not always guarantee success ie Arsenal simlar form, though it's a great platform to build on , would rather have a 50/50 split of the draws to win defeat ratio, hopefully our 2 games in hand will bare a minimum of 4 point

Stevenage will be good. Hopefully take a good number of fans and spur them on

Stevenage are not that good. A draw at least but we should be aiming to beat them.

fewest defeats in a season since joining the FL is 6, in 1974/75. If you also consider pre first joining the FL, then it's 5. Details here:
