BBC Radio Lincs are saying that Salford City paid a transfer fee between £50,000 and £70,000.

He's worth that if he gets them to the FL.

Win/Win for Greeny and Salford

He get's a good wage (we presume), and plays regular football whilst scoring goals

Salford get a proven striker that has been insane in the conference. I'll be keeping my own on the vidiprinter

Lincoln are also expecting offers for Matt Rhead. Shay McCarten may have to return to Bradford City. That will just leave them with John Akinde and Bruno Andrade. Imps fans are mentioning Jayden Stockley, Macauley Bonne and Danny Rose as possible replacements.

Letting Greenie go means Lincoln have someone ready to sign in January.

I hope he does well at Salford.

Shame Salford didn't sign him a few weeks ago as it would have been great to see him score a hat-trick against the sheep...

Good luck to Greenie, two and a half year deal, would not have got that from us.

Lets get Rheady back! Big man up front and a threat with his headers. Maybe we could score from a corner!!!

(I will get my tin hat and await incoming!)

Rhead would be an excellent signing and just what we need - if he's happy to fight for a place and most likely be on the bench most weeks.

Green to Salford seems a good move all round.

I'm not sure that Rhead is the answer. I don't think that he would suit our style of play. Pope is similar, but better, and he is more suited to our style of play.

Different type of player with a different role to play. I'm not sure he is fast enough to fit into our system but would do well against teams who try to bully us.

I could see him playing in front of the midfield but not quite up with the main striker. He'd get plenty of knock downs and has a better touch than many give him credit for. He would also give extra cover at opposition set pieces which we are susceptible to.

I do think it would be a step backwards in terms of style etc but can see advantages in some games. We already have players in Greenies mouldy but not Rheady's.

We are creating chances but need someone who can convert them.

Rhead would spend most of the time on the bench, as he does at Lincoln.

We need someone like Mo Eisa who could convert our chances.

Can see him going to Lincoln, Green's departure is the clue,

I doubt he'll drop down from the Premiership to Lge 2.

Rhead is destined for a swan song in the Conference, maybe Salford too?

Get Rheady back, yeah he won't be a starter, but he is a damn good plan B, last ten mins kinda guy, he would scare the hell out of defenders who see this man mountain coming on for the last ten mins against their tired legs, he is something we don't have, and he is good at doing what he does. And I am sure he wouldn't turn us down.

Tom Pope has signed a new contract which keeps him at Port Vale until 2021.

Rheady would bag half a dozen goals and batter defences, in the games where his sort of qualities are required. But is he the consistent goal threat able to fire us to promotion? I don't think he'd add enough over the remaining season personally

I can't believe people would want Rhead back . Might has well have one of the Central defenders up front . He wouldn't fit into our style of play . He's too slow and spends more time on the floor than Rose . There are much better players out there .
My daughter in law is a Lincoln season ticket holder and although they worship the likes of Rhead , Green , Arnold etc because of the conference and FA cup run they know Rhead isn't good enough to start and some expect him to be released either in January or end of the season
The lad did well for us but he's not good enough to get in our current team . We need a striker who fits into our style of play and can score regularly

It's not a pan B we need though . It's a plan A . Rose and Davies when fully fit would be our plan B

It's obvious that we don't want Rhead back, or Green. It seems that people are unable to accept that clubs move on and that players don't always stay at their highest level. Rhead was great until a couple of seasons ago, for a style of football that we don't play. Green was fantastic for us, working with Rhead, in the Conference a few years ago. And is still OK.
But if we need a striker it's a finisher, not a handy squad player who can hold the ball up a bit and create the odd chance. Butcher and Khan can do that.

Would Rhead really want to come back here anyway but we could do far worse as he has matured a lot more since he was here and recall some games never missed a header and won it all
