The only ones causing problems on Saturday were the police - heavy handed again. Ridiculous tbh.

Shock!!!

I am going to write to the FA. I am getting sick of every fixture we have moving time. It all does is make people go out at 9am and not 11am.

It makes absolutely no difference. If people are going to kick off, they will do it regardless.

I would like to see the arrest records over the last 5 seasons being back in the league compared to seasons 2003 to 2008 before this sensless act of changing kick off times was inforced.
I will never understand the decision its not you cant get an alcoholic drink before and after the match. Take Lincoln away the other week both sets of fans mingling together before n after the game any arrests made ? County fans kicking off amongst themselves last week any arrests made ? None
I agree with closing the gate before and after the match to help match congestion but that again opens the debate of fans passing each other on Quarry Lane going in different directions to get to their vehicles and local buses home.
Final Point
What will happen if or when we get promoted bigger crowds more local teams to visit the Mill......

Mansfield v Peterborough
Mansfield v Doncaster
Mansfield v Rotherham

I have sent an email to the FA around the rules and regulations around moving fixtures. To say there is potential for trouble is not a satisfactory answer in my opinion as we have seen soo many high profile fixtures over all 4 leagues occur at 3pm on a Saturday. If its a home game, we have the gate segregation and the blocked access to the retail park so I really cannot see what difference 2 hours makes. If they are wories about the drinkers, they just go out at 9am and not 11am

The issue is, the will say its because of the time change there were no arrests. The whole thing is embarrassing and financially could be damaging for any club

The problem being is that the police will claim that them moving the match to 1pm has meant there was no arrests (or reduction of)

Is it only Mansfield that suffers from this?
It seems around 50% of the non tv 1pm kickoffs involve us. How do the other 91 clubs avoid this sanction?

They don't deal with Nottinghamshire Police - regularly one of the worst performing police forces in the country.

Either that or the club don't negotiate with them very well.

I loved how us Vs Lincoln was a 1pm KO with a 9,500 crowd yet Forest Vs Millwall with a crowd around 25,000 was a regular KO. Figure that one out.

It never solves any problems anyway. If anything it creates more - if you're determined to have a skinful before a game, you'll just go to Wetherspoons at 9am.

Then after the game, you've got a load of peed up fans left in town much earlier than you'd usually have them.

Where does it end? 7am kick off? 4am when the nightclubs kick out?!

I love the vagueness of “police advice”, I’m going to start using it in real life.

Police advice usually means 'if you don't do as we want we'll rack up the price of policing the fixture by 50%‘.

Didn't realise it wasn't a 1pm KO, all the local fixtures have been for the past few seasons.

The upside of the 1pm KO's is that we're unbeaten in the last 10 of them.

Cheers police

I was just going to say it's not the FA. I think you're spot on mate. I'd also point them towards the Sheffield derby being moved to a FRIDAY NIGHT a few weeks ago and of course we've got Derby v Forest to come this Monday night. It just seems to be our completely incompetent police force who feel that they have to move our fixtures all the time. It makes not a jot of difference either because people will kick off no matter what time the game starts is they want to. Funny thing is, the 'trouble' that was caused in the North Stand on Saturday was by one fan who wasn't even drunk, so that proves it makes no difference.

1pm is abit of an inconvenient time why not move the game to 10am. So games over just intime for lunch.

Police advice.
Such a cop out. (Ahem)

I haven’t seen any evidence of our fans being any more laity than any other club. Notts Police are a load of utter bellthronks
