It's not raining in Warsop (7 p.m.), and predicted to clear in Mansfield at the same time. But there's a strong wind blowing so conditions would have been quite unpleasant.

No two pint pots on because it's not match day
No meals on because it's match day.

The game against Crawley won't be on Saturday.

I had a look at the pitch. It was unplayable.

edit - to clarify - these are comments responding to earlier questions/comments. I am not saying the game won't be on Saturday because the pitch was unplayable at 6pm today

Why not

see other thread:
Crawley not interested in playing the game on Saturday. Their Italian manager was going home for a few days, and had given the players several days off until Monday. According to the Crawley Observer, Ollie Palmer was going to Ibiza for a few days.

Tbh we’ve probably watered the pitch to “help” it along given the injuries and how often we’ve played of late etc.

You’re seriously saying they can’t drain a pitch in four days ? Get out of town.

I'm not sure if you're asking me.

My two statements were answering separate questions/comments from others. They were not related.

Martin i love your reports .
but think you are wrong on your comments .i seen the pitch also ref should check to see if ball will not stick
but ground man said ref said off straight away and where was crawley team bus at 6.30 when match was called off
as both managers should be the for pitch inspection or had they all gone away for there mini break lol

the ref tried to bounce the ball, it didn't bounce.

To clarify, the ref makes the decision on his own, without influence of the managers.

Only the referee can take the decision to call off a game, but I wish he’d made his inspection a bit earlier.

My journey was over 50 miles, and I’m sure there were other fans who traveled further than that.
