thought this lad deserves some praise with the form he's in at the moment. got to admit I was not overly impressed with him last season as games just seemed to pass him by, but he looks like a different player under flitcroft and is finally scoring some good goals for us
keep it up mellis

Thought he looked a little lazy last season. This season he has applied himself well and showed he is class at this level. Long may it continue.

Agreed. I think he’s made himself a “first eleven” player.

Jacob Mellis did not have a good game today but he has been excellent recently. He deserved his last minute equalizer for his previous performances. He said after the game that he was only 60% fit today as he is suffering with a hamstring injury.

Melli’s was lucky he didn’t get replaced at half time he constantly gave the ball away’ he should be buying the beers tonight for The rest of his team mates who constantly got him out of jail . Very poor today but what a finish .. coys

He was going through a lot of personal issues last season that will have impacted his performances.
Looks a new player this season.

Playing through a hamstring injury is a concern. Should he be rested?

You can see why Chelsea paid £1m for him, you can also see why they didn't keep him. Against better opposition his mistakes would have been punished more often but that's why he's down here. He's a very good player at league 2 level and probably league 1 level.

Should have never have played down at Charlton IMO.
Echo other comments, he’s been excellent. Nice to see us getting goals from midfield this season, something which let us down a lot last season!

A bit harsh when he's playing with an injury! I give him extra marks for insisting on being available rather than resting the hamstiring.

Sounds like his head wasn’t in it. Flitcroft said that a few months ago he didn’t have the ‘wantability’ he has now.

Has he had the injury all season? He has been immense in some games I agree but he does make a few "unforced errors" in games that has either led to goals or chances for the opposition. He has also created many for us as well.
You do have the flip side of what you are saying. Miss Mellis for 1 game and get him 100% or let him carry on at 80-90% fit until he does too much and he's injured?

Thing for me with Mellis which I like about him is he seems to have bought into the club foundations and supporters beliefs.
I think he really enjoys playing for the club and fans.

I’m not sure that it’s acceptable on here to make a constructive observation about a player. You’ll be flogged for it.

Im sure it helps thats he's now playing next to a proper midfielder. I had my doubts whether he could play in a two man midfield but he's showing he can.
The Stags are for life, not just for cup finals. (or Liverpool).
