Gimps Scorefred sponsored by Full Focus On The League

Postby STAGS FOR LIFE » Wed Nov 21, 2018 6:28 am

Now we out the FA cup our full focus is on the League and that is what really matters.
We need our away record to stay intact and a win would send a statement out to the rest in the league.

Let's hope rose bags one Saturday to kick start his season like it did in this fixture last season.

It's gonna be tough this one. Depends how long it takes them to recover physically and more importantly mentally from last night. The Imps'll go for the jugular right from the off and if we concede early it could be a long afternoon. I hope Bish n Jacob are back by then or we're stuffed.

Yep win at home and draw away gives us enough points. Lincoln is a tough place to go, as long as we keep it tight, quieten their crowd and have a good go I’m happy. Then we might be able to nick a little more.

Prediction I’d go for 1-1 draw.

Lincoln have scored 13 goals this season from set pieces. It would be nice to beat them at their own game or at least score a goal direct from a corner. I think the only one we have scored this season was Matt Preston's header at Bury. He also scored with a header from a free kick at Yeovil. We have scored from two other corners where the ball was initially cleared, Tyler Walker against Newport County and Neal Bishop against Morecambe.

I assume Lincoln's 13 goals do not include penalties. They did score from four corners and a long throw in their 6-2 away win at Port Vale.

It's a stat from D3D4 Dave not Lincoln City.

From what I saw at Cheltenham, we struggle with crosses so I think we’ll be up against it.

Lincoln's danger man will be Bruno Andrade

"Since signing for LincolnCity Bruno Andrade has:

Completed more successful dribbles (56),
Played more key passes (18)
Created more chances (17)

than any other Imps player"

Outstanding for Borehamwood last season, and almost single-handedly got them to the Conference play-offs.

What is wrong with Otis Khan? I thought DF said he could of carried on when he got injured and was taken off as a precaution ? He seems to have been out for ages and i thought we really missed him vs Port Vale, someone to go and get the ball and link the midfield up with the strikers.

Really, I thought we'd starting winning and holding since he was out, he was lightweight and kept giving possession back as he was knocked off the ball so easily, we haven't missed him one iota

I would agree with the previous games, but Saturday there was that lack of quality in possession. He provides that in my opinion.

Doesn't Khan have an achilles injury? If so it can take a while to heal :D . I think Otis looks useful, but who would you drop to bring him, Mellis? Jacob has been a revelation this season.

We have done okay without Khan but I still think we would be better with him, I agree that we cannot drop Mellis or Bishop on current form

Does anybody have a proper update for Khan? I keep hearing he’s ‘nearly’ ready but still yet to return?

Khan wasn’t enjoying his best run of form before his injury, and since he’s been out the side we have picked up. That said I do still think he can be a cracking player for us and will come back and be a big player. Hope he’s back in the squad for Saturday as he would be a useful option off the bench. Would like to see Bishop and Mellis in the middle with Khan linking up behind Walker and Hamilton at some point (won’t be this week of course).

Very tough game obviously this, got to stand up to them at set pieces. If we do we’ll stand a decent chance as I think we are a better footballing side. Can’t split it, but will be a low scoring affair.

I said it looked like a hamstring injury in commentary. Then after the game, Flitcroft said it was just a precaution to take him off after he over-stretched.

We know we can win. We've beaten them already this season.

Let's do it, and if we do, the league will look very tasty indeed.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.
