As suggested, here are some stats from the match. Obviously it is up to Martin if he wants to add them to the match report (for posterity).

Stags Addicks
Possession (%). 45 55
Shots Total. 18 13
On target 3 4
Blocked. 7 1
Off target (inc hit woodwork) 8(2) 8(0)
Expected Goals n/a n/a

Corners 10 5
Offside 2 0
Fouls 11 12
Cards (Yellow/ Red) 0/0 4/0

Passing Accuracy (%) 73 78
Crossing Accuracy (%) 27 20

Tackling effectiveness(%) 60 60
Clearances/headed clearances 22/14 24/7

I have a source for expected goals for league matches and am also looking for absolute numbers for passing, crossing and tackling to make the percentages more meaningful.

Absolutely your choice. You don’t have to read them. As other posters have stated they only read the summary of Martin’s match reports.

It's valuable data for future analysis, and those that take no interest in the stats can continue to take no interest.

One of the main reasons I've been on here for years each week is reading the match reports history etc..
I really like the summary and the player ratings.
Halifax stags thank you for your stats I really enjoyed reading them.
We need to improve like every other team on crossing accuracy ( or the forwards need to get on the end of them :D )
Loving the tackling headed clearances from both teams.
I would be greatful if you did this every week please.
It would be great to compare the stats on Tuesday and especially against port vale.
Many thanks to you both.

I will try and continue to do this, depending on what is available. There may not be much out there for tonight’s match!

Statistics, of course, only give one part of the story, most of which is told by the match report. For instance a team might have a great pass accuracy figure but lots of those could have been short passes between the defence and midfield.
I like the headed clearance figure because it gives an idea of how a team has been attacked, whether it was mainly on the floor or from long balls and crosses.

Where do you get the data from Halifaxstag?
