Tyler Walker

Postby gazza1988 » Sat Nov 03, 2018 7:27 pm

I felt he deserves his own thread after his performances past couple of games.

For him to go 7 games without a goal and some very high profile misses, and have the confidence still to score a back heeled goal against Crewe is the mark of a good striker.

Today, he did absolutely nothing wrong. Every time he had the ball in the box today he either scored, shot on target or won a corner. Absolutely faultless.

It's easy to focus on the negatives but he was a massive plus today.

If I’m honest I thought he was very average today.

Opinions eh.

As I've said on another thread, he was our best player today. Led the line well, great on the ball and good movement off it too. Deserved his goals.

Looks like a man reborn!

I’ve not been his biggest fan and have labelled him “lazy” however... he was excellent today and deserved his 2 goals. The first an excellent header and the 2nd he reacted well.

Seems a big confidence player and for a young lad I can see why.

He must have been poor then recently. I’m not wanting to turn this into a slating but he was nothing special except for his first goal which was a fantastic finish

Opinions eh. Thought he was brilliant. Stretched their defence constantly, rarely gave it away and scored 2 very well taken goals. Can't ask for much more at this level.

Belly - TW has plenty of talent, but he has seemed “disinterested” much of the time.

Maybe we’ve yet to see the real Tyler?

I thought he had a very good game . Held the ball up well and brought others into the game two good goals. That's all you can ask from a striker

I was there today.Tyler is a very talented player his first touch is excellent and when he receives the ball he looks up and mainly finds a colleague.Rose was not in the same league today and looked poor.Hamilton was poor first half but improved when he went to his proper position on the left.A good point in the end.If we beat Grimsby then we will have had a good return from the last few games.

Hamilton made the wrong decision everything he got the ball in a crossing position.

Moving over to the left just made it more apparent that today wasn’t his day.

Around 15-20 minutes after he was moved to the left, Hamilton was moved to the right.

When Atkinson came on he went back to the left. Terrible decision making from Hamilton today when in the final third IMO he knows he’s much better than what he shown today.

Don't care how he played, he's paid to score goals, his 3 in2 games have won us 4 points. He's started slowly but hopefully the best is to come. Top work Tyler.

The first goal is simply outstanding centre forward play for me.

End of the day, he’s had two very good games recently. But what annoys me about our fans is how golden boy Danny Rose can’t do a thing wrong. Yes he runs a lot but if walker had performed like Rose the fans would’ve been straight on his back. I’ve felt sorry Tyler and I’m glad he’s answering his critics. 9 goals and it’s only November, not bad of you ask me.

I thought Walker was very good today. He worked hard and looked a class act. I also thought Danny had a good game and his DEFENDING at their corners was excellent. The thing is Belly, apart from the last 20 minutes or so, they were feeding off scraps as Cheltenham relied upon the hoof and closing down the play in midfield.

Well done Tyler and Danny because both never gave up.
