As Halloween nears and MK Dons return for the first time since that dreadful night 11 years and 25 days on, was this horror show still the worst refereeing display you can ever remember seeing?

No question. The worst refereeing performance I can recall over the last forty one years. Incidentally, Drysdale is the only referee I can recall driving a car with a personalised number plate. He clearly thinks a lot of himself!

Look at the attendence!!!
Wow! That really does show how far we have moved forward as a club and despite it being slow progress people are coming back!
I was there that night, Stags were fantastic and it was possibly the worst refereeing performance I’ve ever seen.
To be fair to Drysdale the last few times he has reffed us he has been pretty decent as far as I can recall.

In the last six times we have had him ref us we have won the lot including the 1-0 win at Chesterfield and 3-1 home win vs Notts Co last season.
Also both Carlisle home wins in this season and last season.
Also he refereed us in that nail biting 1-0 win against Tranmere at the end of 14/15 season.
So he seems now to be a good omen for us.

His performance against MK was woeful, only Trev Kettle's v Darlo rivalled it. I'm generally quite calm watching the Stags, I wanted to run on the pitch and punch him after that game! I think he was pushing for the top level, more recently I think he is almost resigned to being a League 1/2 official and as a result is less a star of the show and more a proper referee. I spoke to him not long after the MK game, he was pretty unrepentant!

Whenever are referees repentant?
Theirs not to reason why
Theirs but to do and die

That's the Haslam Effect.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

Absolutely spot on.
The season we went down anyway.
That was the worst and best season Mansfield ever had.
Yes it took 5 years down there, but it got rid of that C***.

I think we need to remember those days and realise how lucky we are, despite being in league two at the moment.
The other thing that strikes me is, if we had won that game we would probably have stayed up.

According to some current fans drawing week in week out deserves a worse reaction.
