What happened to the weekly payments to HMRC?

I thought they were going to pay up before the court case. I don't think their troubles are anywhere near over yet but at least the season will be over before they go bust and the table won't be effected.

I'm not sure if that is a good thing in our case as rivals may have taken more points from them. Whatever the scenario I can't see them being in the league next year.

T'is a wonder the Pies messageboard isn't flooded with the amount of blood about after all the wrist slitting post the Macc game. The 'Macclesfield Watch' thread is a great read, from the highs of Exeter being 1-2 up to the depths of despair with Macc's late winner is a classic :D

It's comedy gold. One deluded fool has said "a promotion challenge in The National League has got to be more fun than the lower reaches of League 2"

Oh he'll regret that statement, apart from Hereford away I can't think of any enjoyment whatsoever, even Wrexham was purgatory

Hold on mate, you know what you did here but maybe others don't. The original post said:

To be honest, a promotion challenge in the National League is probably more fun than a lower-mid-table finish in L2 - not that I think we'd challenge for promotion or anything.

But I guess that didn't fit the narrative.

Anyway, carry on.

Thanks I will. You I presume said it would be more fun, I said it's no fun, can't see what I've misinterpreted?

Either Yeovil, Macclesfield or Notts County are going to get lucky this season by stopping up with a low points total. I don't mind if it is Notts County as long as they get 3 points on Saturday by beating Franchise FC. Come on You Pies!

A draw is no good to either of them, but not bad for us (providing we actually turn up for our game)

Has to be said we'll all be rooting for the Pies on Sat. They turned up against Lincoln, they turned up against FGR and they didn't need to turn up when they played us as we just rolled over and died on the day. Time for them to turn up again against MK and then lose the next three that'll do nicely thank you.

They're the same as us in 07/08, we'd have one stellar performance and everyone would think the corner'd been turned and 'we're gonna be ok'. Then we'd flop like we'd never ever seen a football in our lives for the next 5-6 games. Hope eh!

They are well and truly, well you know.

They need 2 wins from 3 to stand any chance now. And they have rarely done that all season.
Crawley (a)
Grimsby (h)
Swindon (a)

NOT A CHANCE IN HELL.

With Macc and Yeovil now losing too every week it will only take as little as a win and a draw to save them. As much as it pains me to say this, they may well survive.

Yeovil can't buy a win so unless their form drastically changes they are down.
If Macclesfield win just one of their last three games (two at home) then Notts County need 2 wins minimum due to their poor goal difference.
Realistically Notts County need both Yeovil and Macclesfield to fail to win any more games.

Macclesfield have favourable fixtures:
Newport (H)
Port Vale (on the beach) (A) - everyone wins away at Port Vale (cough)
Cambridge (on the beach) (H)

Don’t really care much. None of their fixtures will impact much on the promotion race.

It would be typical clownty to win just one of their last three and survive on one of the lowest points totals ever to do so . If Macc And Yeavil wernt so raspberry they would have gone weeks ago .
If it had been us we would probably have won all 3 and gone down on goal difference .

Yeovil won't get another point so it's down to how many Counteh can get to catch and go beyond Macc. Beyond Bering mind GD

Think 1 win for Macc will see Notts drop tbh, they look gone already and aren’t exactly putting up much of a fight. The goal difference for Notts could be a real issue as well as it’s basically another point on top of what they already need.

It’s a shame Yeovil are as crap as they are, not even a change of manager has done anything for them.

One draw'd do Macc imo put them 3 points ahead . Can only see Clownty gaining 2-3 more points at the most .

Why would we want to play in a ground with inherent safety issues and a playing surface which is very inferior to ours?

I suppose they have better wheel chair ramps and easy access facilities but do we need them?.

Yes this does show their arrogance not just about their ground but their delusional thoughts they will come straight back up. Darlington's ground is far better and newer and look where that got them.
