Statement from Alan Hardy

Due to increasing and understandable levels of frustration within the fanbase I would like to provide assurances that talks with prospective buyers are continuing in a constructive manner. An issue out of the club’s control is currently delaying matters but I am extremely confident it will be resolved so we can reach a positive outcome. Everyone involved is acutely aware that time is of the essence and we are working around the clock to get a deal done at the earliest opportunity. I'm sorry that I can't reveal more but, as is normal practice, non-disclosure agreements have been signed, limiting what I can tell you at this stage.

Thank you for your continued support and patience.

bwahahahaha, I'm sure he said in his interview with Slater after the Swindon game the club would be sold in 7-10 days.

What are the odds he will still be chairman come their first non league game of the season?

He won't be simply because they won't be competing. Liquidation before the end of August in my opinion.

Why would he liquidate it and lose all his investment? He'll hang on as long as possible to try and get back as much as he can. Sadly for the asset is now worth a lot less than it was pre relegation. The longer this drags on it just means they'll be down to bare bones budget wise next season. Such a shame.

He has a minimum of £750,000 to find for the inland revenue before the next hearing. The club own nothing apart from a few players who who don't amount to much, they don't own the ground.

They still have wages to pay to the staff under contract plus all of the support staff and ex managers. If they are forced into administration the conference won't have them in the premier division and liquidation suddenly looks a likely bet.

for the inland revenue

No money is owed to the Inland Revenue

It must be a good 12/13yrs since the merger with C&E and subsequent name change

How pedantic.

Anyway you can change the name all you want but you can't polish a turd. Inland Revenue, HMRC, Tax Man, Septic Knuckles. Whatever you want to call it, it's the same entity under a different guise and it's going to get Alan Hardy and Notts County.

The Smurf seems to have reversed away from any deal, but Uncle Keith (aka The Calver Criminal) might yet come to the rescue of “Used To Be The League’s Oldest Football Club”

104 pages about Notts County and their troubles.
How times change. Once upon a time all we cared about was the troubles of Chesterfield.
Have they suddenly got their house in order or are they not newsworthy anymore as I notice their thread of over 200 pages has gone or stalled, anyone know where it has been placed (in room 101?)

One merger & name change in 250 years is hardly excessive. ;)

The challenge for Hardy is that he's trying to sell the club and recoup something for himself when those interested in buying could all wait and get it for practically nothing in pre-pack administration. His only chance is that there are a few people interested so that he can play them off against each other and encourage someone to pay a little bit more than they'd have to fork out in administration to get ahead of the other vultures in the queue.

I don’t think the rent is that much due to the very generous Hayden green estate. I think it is something like £12000 per year. Obviously if things go even worse for them and the go below the conference then things get messy such as the the ground going to the council and then taking the ground off them and then they will have to find somewhere else to play

I think the club own some of the stands.

Not sure how you can sell a stand but don’t own the pitch.
