Agree. I think I actually miss them!! :o

Our debies are always light-hearted and never nasty, and afterall, they're Nottinghamshire.

Losing a Cup game v Matlock is a very good omen,

1976-77 Lost Cup (FA) game v Matlock = 3rd Division Champions

2012-13 Lost Cup (Trophy) game v Matlock = Conference Champions

Both seasons also finished with a 1-0 win v Wrexham
Champions 1974-75, 1976-77, 2012-13

Freight Rover Trophy Winners 1986-87

Yeah, I mean who would have thought that a team top of the (non)league, playing in probably the biggest ground ever in that division, and virtually giving tickets away on a weekend when there is no Premiership or Championship football, would break the non league attendance record.

Fair play to them for doing it, but they have been dealt a pretty good hand for this weekend !!

We couldn’t sell out a game when we offered fans to get in for free when in the conference against gateshead (though not top of the league)

Let’s be real here, it’s a cracking effort and should be applauded

Dulwich Hamlet’s programme editor, John Lawrence, has been in touch to confirm what appears to be the largest attendance we can find for a non-league domestic league game in England. “Yes, there was a crowd of 16,254 paid to see the first game at our old Champion Hill Stadium on 10 October 1931 for Dulwich Hamlet v Nunhead

We should just give 20,000 free tickets out and say our next game attendance was 20,000 as tickets sold counts as attendance apparently. Or perhaps 50 thousand.....

That’s shocking, it’ll take more than a fire sale to pull back £14 million. Might even have to sell their ground :D

Hopefully the local councils won’t do a Chesterfield and give them some sizeable loans. At a time when every penny counts I certainly don’t want my rates going to support a football team, whoever it is.

I wouldn't have thought any of your 'rates' would be paid to Nottingham City Council.

Maybe you should try reading it again as you have yet again failed to understand the obvious. You will see that I said councils as in the plural not singular. It is not without precedent for Notts County Council to help fund city causes which attract revenue to their area eg Nottinghamshire CCC or the Nottingham City Tram Network so the idea County may apply to Notts County Council is not beyond credibility. In respect of your ‘rates’ comment, it is a common expression used by almost everyone except the most pedantic sad individuals so I offer no apology for it’s usage. Can I also applaud you for the insightful revelation that people who live in the county don’t pay rates to Nottingham City Council, it really is most educational.

Would be more than surprised if NCC or Nottm CC even considered loaning Counteh anything.

Money is tight in local government and terribly tight in the case of Nottm CC, in my view, Notts Counteh have lived on financial borrowed time for years time to sink or swim.

I work with local authorities on a daily basis and Nottingham City are far and away the worst off in the East Midlands, they’re an absolute mess. They’ve not got a pot to piss in.

Also I think the reason that county fans aren’t worried is that they’re playing well. As soon as that stops and this catches up with them they’ll see the mess they’re in.

It's the same old County cycle.

This will be the fourth time I think since I have been alive.

The Warnock sort of era and fall from grace

Munto promotion then fall from grace

Hardy and near promotion, then willy flash and fall from grace

Are there any I have missed?

Nevertheless I heard on the radio this afternoon that they've scored an incredible 111 goals in 2022.

Maybe that's why their fans don't care at the moment

Relative solvency and boring defensive football going nowhere like us or......
