Youth Alliance Cup
HT: Mansfield Town 0 Burton Albion 0

Very tight game. Burton had the one chance when No 9 was clean through but Theo Avery in goal for the Stags made a good save. He likes to come out of his goal and take a few risks and the Burton parents think he will get caught out. Charlie Carter is playing well in midfield.

1-1 - No 9 held the ball up at near post and laid it back to 10 whose shot rebounded to 15 Alfie King who scored.

Youth Alliance Cup
FT: Mansfield Town 2 Burton Albion 1

Very tight game and it was the Stags subs that won the game. No 9 (Dylan Scott) gave Burton the lead in the 2nd half racing through the middle to score. The Stags equalised quickly afterwards when McKeal Abdullah held the ball up at the near post and laid it back to Jakub Kruszynski whose shot was blocked/saved but sub Alfie King followed up to score.

The quick No 7 was dangerous all game for Burton and Theo Avery had to make another good save when he was clean through. The Stags had to clear the ball off the line from a set piece. Ben Whelan also made a last minute block to stop another Burton attack. The Stags won it in the last minute when sub Alfie King played in sub Louis Bonser to score the winner.

Charlie Carter played well in midfield. Theo Avery made two good saves. Ben Whelan, Cormac Maher and Elliott Hartmann worked had in defence. McKeal Abdullah and Jakub Kruszynski did better up front in the 2nd half. Sub Alfie King made an impact. No 4 at the back (Ben Maginness) and the quick No 7 were Burton's best players.

What was your view on McKeal Abdullah and Jakub Kruszynski, Darren? They seem to have made a good start and played last year as well.

I'd hazard a guess a couple of these boys'll get a chance in the up coming PJ games from the bench. A chance that they have to get the most out of.

They struggled to get much change out of the two big Burton centre halfs in the 1st half but improved in the 2nd half. They were both involved in the equaliser. Abdullah held the ball up well at the near post.
