Would be a big loss for them.

It was rumoured they were after Quinn. Maybe we could do a swop deal :P

He’s done nothing at league level and I don’t think he is capable of being better than average league 2.

They thought they were going to get a fortune for him before his injury but didn’t even get a bid. Why should that change?

The first four words would have sufficed :D

Has he even played league football?

It’s alright doing it against dog & partridge one week and the crown & anchor the next but what about when he comes across proper sides/players?

Charlie Whelan on Twitter: "I’m told negotiations are now ongoing for the transfer of Kabongo Tshimanga between Spireites and Birmingham City. The club ideally do not want to sell but have a price. The player is more than happy after the support he received during his injury but has aspirations of playing higher."

Any idea on price?
"750k upwards. 500k plus with potential add-ons have also been discussed. The general consensus is the club want £1m for their investment."

If they get offered £250,000 they should snatch their hands off. I personally don’t think he’s worth that much but some clubs are always willing to take a punt on a non league player.

See Jamie Reid. Scored goals for fun for Torquay. Couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo in league two.

Don't forget Chesterfield got £500k for Jordan Bowery.

And he played like the Jordan Bowery we had for the first few months he was here, not the versatile and ever dependent one we have now.

In fact I need to eat humble pie on Jordan Bowery because I was his biggest critic when he first came as well.
That wasn't just based on how rhubarb he was when he first got here, but based on how bad he was previously at Chesterfield too.

But yeah, they always do seem to get astronomical values for players who are worth nowhere near.

Pretty sure they have received large fees for Clucas and Doyle in more recent years, and Clucas later had another big sell-on when he went to Swansea for an even more ridiculous sum.
Didn't do them all that good though, still dwelling in the dilly dilly league.

He hit our post twice for Stevenage

27(16) league apps and 8 goals for Stevenage
31(8) league apps and 6 goals for Stags

Presumably the deal is based on add ons regarding number of appearances. The player has only just got back following a long term injury.

"Young Arsenal midfielder Tim Akinola has joined the Spireites on loan until the end of the season. Akinola is described as ‘a tireless defensive midfielder with strong technical qualities’. The 21-year-old, who hails from Nigeria, played youth football with Lincoln City and Huddersfield Town before joining Arsenal in 2020. He had a spell on loan at Dundee United last season."

I heard similar. Maybe a ploy to get fee down a little. I can't see Birmingham paying the sort of figures some of the regulars on Blobs Bored are hoping for.

Besides I don't think the player is as good as Matt Green, who struggled when at Birmingham (although a nasty injury didn't help).

I think Bob's Bored may be even more toxic than on here tonight, if it is confirmed the club has cashed in on their hero.

I truly hope they have spent the money they thought they were getting for him on other players and it’s fallen through at the last minute, if true that’s actually made my transfer deadline day

Think his injury was a pretty bad ankle break was it not?

Brum have probably got decent medical facilities that have picked up something to do with that, and that isn't worth the risk.

He'd be nowhere near good enough for the Championship anyway in my opinion.

The way they go off, you'd think he was the next Jamie Vardy - which he most certainly isn't.

This ^ For Chesterfield that’s a brilliant end to the transfer window. Will only add to my belief that unfortunately they will finish first. Wrexham aren’t as good imo.

How's that made your day? He bangs em in. I was hoping his injury would mean a poor return to the first team but nope, like he's never been away.
