This, I'd sooner laugh my c ock off at them in the National League North or the Evo Stik whilst being spanked by someone like Farsley Celtic on a freezing cold December.

What's the point in having a rival if you never play them? None. What feels better than winning against them? Nothing. So eventually I do want them to come back, or at least play us in the cup, but I do want them to spend years and years down there. It would be nice if they could do a Wrexham.

I'd like them to become an irrelevance to us.
Looking forwards, playing Forest, Derby, Sheff U & Wendy in league matches while less intense would be far more satisfying than playing them bluenosed scumbags.

While all of us would prefer to compete at Championship level against those teams, nothing will compare to games against them. Like I said, occasional fa cup games would be fine I reckon.

I remember them saying, when we dropped into non league, they no longer regarded us as rivals. Instead it was Sheffield United and Rotherham.Sneag wrote:ParisStag wrote:Spiritater wrote:cassellswasmagic wrote:Hope they never return, EVER!!!

Hyde went 26 games without a win in 2013/4 conference season, with ex stag Scott McNiven as manager.

No matter what you think of the management, owners, players etc it is so sad to see a town the size of Chesterfield with a football club in the bottom 4 of the national league
we should be and ARE one of the top 60 clubs in the country.
To paraphrase Arnie, We'll be back!

Chesterfield FC have not won in the league in 18 matches, but have drawn their last 8. This means they are simultaneously on their worst winless record ever and their best unbeaten run for 12 years.

Why not copy and paste the article? I'm sure I'm not alone in not wanting to give their newspapers website any more hits that necessary
