Surely the ultimate goal is to witness a league game of AFC Mansfield v Cheaterfield

Looking at there financial situation, it has to be likely

When you are interested in who would be bonkers enough to take on their managerial position and have a sure fire relegation to step six on their CV, so you google "Chesterfield next manager betting odds"....

Then realise that they are so irrelevant now in the eyes of mainstream media and bookmakers, that they don't even offer any markets for it just to have a gander at who the likely idiots are....

Yeah, I've just done that... D'OH

They need to give the job to someone who knows the National League and National League North such as Nicky Law.

Paul Cox would be another very good candidate but I would not like to see him go to the Prozac.

With only 3 going down this season (could be 2 if macc go bust or the conference just send them straight through) it would be just their luck to survive

Which February are they going to overtake us?...

Shame Sheridan has gone, he was doing a great job. He was hailed as the big money man who was going to save them at the time! Anyone linked with the role?

Derbyshire times saying Ronnie Moore has applied for the job.
Unfortunately he'd be a pretty sound appointment IMO. :(

No. Just chasing last pay day.

He could always sign them Louis Briscoe to play right back

Irrespective of chasing a last pay day he'd still be a good, experienced appointment for a club in that league, in that predicament.

Why would he? He’ll know absolutely zilch about non league football. That’s why so many ex league teams/managers struggle, because they don’t know the things they need to know about being down there.

Their club is rotten to the core. Their last two appointments in Allen and Sheridan were seen as good appointments but it's getting them nowhere. They're doomed.

The only things they have to be happy about at the Poleaxed these days are:-

1. When a new manager is appointed
2. When the same manager is sacked

At least when they inevitably go under in the near future, he'll be able to trim his username down by a good few Roman Numerals for the formation of AFC Direites...

Probably a lightening rod here but I wonder if there are those who want them to go under (and not aimed at any one post)and if so are they genuinely football fans?

Celtic without rangers, Rochdale fans hate not having bury round, Hartlepool with Darlington.

Struggle sure, let them have plenty of time there struggling and in misery yes - for ages hopefully - out of business - nah.

There might have been some of their fans who wished that on us - and they nearly got it - but I also remember how worried I was and how bad it would be for both the fans, the community and the town if the club did go under - chesterfield isn’t really any different in that context.

But that’s only my view.

I agree. I want karma and them to struggle etc, however I don't want them to go out of business.

So, another 1 or 2 relegations for the cheating, sheep fiddling, dirty spireites will do me great thank you :D

P.s. also looking forwarding to sending our youth team to play their first team in a pre-season friendly

raspberry em

Get bigger & better rivals.

Notts County will be back sooner rather than later. It's a better day out, their fans are just as irritating with delusions of granduer, wih the added bonus that they are soft as clarts & we just take all their boozers over for the day.
Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.
