Go to FGR. Maybe do something enjoyable with your Saturday.

 I see where you're coming from.

I used to go to watch Chesterfield games a lot, mainly evening games as it was so close to home and got me out of the house but the prices they charged got ridiculous. Consistently the most expensive tickets in whichever division they have been in for the last few years. I must add that i ALWAYS went in the away end though. It's a good experience. I'm not seriously going to go to a Chesterfield game and sit in the home ends with the locals. I've sat with Oldham fans, Crewe fans, Plymouth fans and fans from clubs all over the country in that away end and it was always enjoyable. It's good to just watch a game as a neutral and sit in an away end and get an away day experience from the perspective of fans from another club.

I can't get to FGR. I've not been away this season yet as i've not been too well but i'm on the way back so hopefully i'll get to Grimsby on New Years Day.

Interestingly just heard a Chesterfield fan being interviewed on Talksh#te 2 on the Ray Stubbs Show as they do a non league slot. Never listen to Jim White. He's offputting. The Chesterfield fan was banging on about how great they were under Paul Cook and nearly got to the Championship and how not so great they are now and highlighting the litany of mad events that have occurred at the club in the last few years such as the fake raffle and the dodgy youth set up.

It was truly great radio. :)

I’m working until 12pm otherwise I would be at FGR. Am I excused?

I will be going to Chesterfield, paying my £10 and supporting Basford from the first minute to the last.

Thing is that AWC is probably not even going really

According to AA route finder, it takes 2hours 45 to get from Mansfield to Nailsworth - park up and you'll be there for KO ;)

There speaks a true fan. Can't be bothered to go to his glorious team's cup final. perhaps it's Andy Fairweather Low Point.

Think you might have got your wires crossed SPBT. I'm a Mansfield Town fan. I live a stones throw from the Proact though.

Apologies I Like Trains, I thought you were a Spireite.

I will be going. And I will be at the notts match week before and the Stevenage match the weekend after.

But if i wasn't going, I would not be making time to watch the spireites, not even for a laugh.

They are so far from being L2 standard. I think they realise that now.

Oh well it's nice for them to play a league team even if they are just making up the numbers against a team who are 18th in L2.

He’s probably on a decent contract and they can’t afford to sack him.

According to Bob's Board there is a peaceful protest before the Basford game. 2:30 in the car park. It would appear that most protesting can't be bothered to go to the game. Shame I'll be at FGR.

Really odd timing. Protesting at a game which is likely to see the lowest home crowd of the season? Surely the time to stage a mob handed protest was yesterday against Grimsby? That would have been more high profile. The extra police presence required to not only deal with the usual subset of brainless oiks travelling from Cleethorpes but to also ensure a peaceful protest will have alerted the media for sure.

There will be hardly anyone there against Basford. If it was an FA Cup game then perhaps but it's in a cup that the majority of the footballing world isn't interested in. There will be more tumbleweed than fans.

I'm not sure there is much point in standing outside the ground protesting against the owners anyway, as they aren't interested and i don't think it will have any effect. A few hundred fans singing dee dahs out will most likely bring a smile to the owners faces as they will then know there is no resistance to be concerned about and it's business as usual. These people have extraordinarily thick skin. They already know what many fans think of them and their regime yet they still plough on regardless.

Protests need proper clout and unless it's there then not only do they have no effect but they also can be counter productive and demoralize fans further. Nowt worse than seeing 5 men and a dog with a few banners.

Rivalry aside. Owners like they have need to be eradicated from the game once and for all. It's not only Paul Pogba that is a virus.
