I think its time for a mention of special agent Cook. He's done quite a superb job.
Brainwashing the locals all season into thinking they are promotion candidates vying for the top spot.

Quietly and under the radar he has dismantled a raspberry team and promoted (sorry , poor choice of word) junior agents Barndoor and Carthorse (Quigley and Grimes) to be integral parts of a set up that is now yielding non results (3 points out of 21).

His statue will surely be erected alongside Sir Jack on the day of reckoning. Outstanding work.

They’d nailed on for a play off spot but that’s it.

15 games left, 8 point play off place cushion.
Still got to play 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 7th and 8th.
Nothing nailed on.

I was looking at that too. We've seen them bottle bigger points differences than that several times in recent years. It would be absolutely hilarious if they didn't make the playoffs.

Let's hope their board either don't have the courage or the cash to sack Cook.

They keep bleating on about how nailing 3rd spot is imperative as it results in one less game to play in their playoff format and it gives you home advantage.

I'm fairly sure that Grimsby battled through two away fixtures to even make the final last time round before winning promotion, so that doesn't necessarily work.

I would assume given the pressure from the stands, playing a playoff game at home would be counter-productive to them right now.

I just hope that County end up in the playoffs and fluff it as well.

Tbh I can't see County botting it this time. They're so consistent at the moment and in Langstaff they have a player who is leagues ahead of any defenders he faces. Wrexham have great momentum this season so I'd expect them to win the playoffs.

ATM County are cruising to promotion whereas Wrexham are just about winning in the last minute of games or drawing the odd one. County are superior imo especially with Langstaff who’s unbelievable at that level!

Serves them right for thinking they were Billy Bigboots.

Their own arrogance has brought them to this position but let’s not get too carried away yet as it’s only speculation at this stage.

One comical comment from there is:

"I'd rather compete in the NL than be mid-table L2. I know that for sure"

Nice to see they've caught a nasty case of Stockholm syndrome

Get the buckets ready

Like how they have changed from 2 to 3 to 4 should be promoted. By the end of the season they could well be asking for the top half of conference to replace bottom half of league 2 .
