Was it just the bottom team though? It's in my head that it was the bottom four that had to apply.

Here is the full list, a very interesting read to remind how many times the Stags tried in the 1920’s and 30’s

Southport were the last team to be relegated through the re-election system in 1978. They finished in 23rd position in Division 4 seven points ahead of Rochdale.

Now that is harsh

Not as harsh as when Barrow didn't get re-elected in 1972.

3rd off bottom, 5 point ahead of Stockport & 8 ahead of Crewe & that was back when it was 2 points for a win. Had it been 3pts for a win in 72, Barrow wouldn't even have been in the bottom 4.

Yeah football was corrupt then too & Barrow were a skint poorly supported club at the edge of the earth who couldn't afford to grease palms.

County and Wrexham are good teams, they'll do well in League 2 if they go up.

Nearly 10,000 at the cheats v County. Fair play to them especially when on BT sport as well, can we have 4 stands at the Mill please..

It was at the prolapse where capacity in just over 10k. They undoubtedly have a far better stadium than us but their team is poor and happily will be in the Conference next season.

Thought both teams were scrappy and poor.

But that goal from Langstaff....wow.... clear indication if there wasn't enough already that he should not be plying his trade at that level.

One little lamb botherer on bobs board saying that if Notts and Wrexham go up, they should win the league next season as whoever comes down will be rubbish

What or where is ‘Wealdstone’?

Chesterfield are currently losing to them.
