Ollie Banks on his way back to them from Barrow. Good signing if it happens.

Or spending their way to oblivion.

How the mighty have fallen, getting giddy over a signing from barrow

Think they've had someone invest some money at some point, a local businessman so I heard.

Ollie Banks is only going there because it's Paul Cook. Can't fault the pull a manager like him will have, always tries to play an attractive style.

Don't think it will work over the course of a season in a league full of backs to the wall cloggers though.

He was probably their best player last season. Would be a good signing.

Paul Cook is an awful person and is lucky to still be in football.

His attitude and drinking binges are a nightmare.

I’d be embarrassed if I were a shi@eite

Steve Evans anyone? Easily the most odious of managers and MTFC employed him. Paul Cook is not in the same league.

No, you're right, Steve Evans is in league 2 and Paul Cook is in the conference...

Dilly Dilly.

Spireites have signed wide player George Cooper from Plymouth Argyle and striker Michael Gyasi from King's Lynn

George Cooper is a good player but has had injury problems in last two seasons and hardly played:

2020-2021 10(2) league apps and 1 goal
2021-2022 0(1) league apps and 0 goals

I like Paul Cook

His squeaky voice when under pressure amuses me

Well I doubt it is connected to silverware, unless the canteen cutlery has been nicked. :)

Do you think it could mean theft by the club from the ratepayers? They could have missed a 0 off the end of the amount.

Always something dodgy going on isn’t there?

they’re like the gift that just keeps on giving

It’s like how they don’t announce their season ticket numbers like every other club, you have to wonder why?

Can’t count that high? or are they hiding something.

To be fair with all the sheep season ticket holders they probably fall asleep before counting them all.

They are such a murky club. Always something isn't there.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

At this point they should just change their nickname permanently to the Crooked Spireites.

More famous for dodgy goings on than that church now.
