HT Crawley 0-1 Grimsby
Grimsby deservedly in front. Crawley quite poor in the first half.

HT: Crawley Town 0 Grimsby Town 1
Possession: 42/58%
Grimsby have been the better side and deservedly lead at half time. Josh Emmanuel and Harry Clifton have linked well down the right. The two combined well on 12 minutes and Clifton crossed from the right to John McAtee but he hooked his shot wide. Bryn Morris made a good run forward and played in Otis Khan on the left who curled his shot wide. Morris also shot wide from the edge of the area after a quickly taken corner. Grimsby finally took the lead on 42 minutes when Danny Amos at left back brought the ball forward. James Tilley should have stopped him but Amos was allowed to keep going and he slipped the ball to Harry Clifton in the left side of the area. Travis Johnson did not attempt to tackle Clifton putting his arms in the air and Clifton put the ball in the roof of the net from a tight angle. A good finish by Clifton but poor defending by Tilley and Jognson.
Crawley nearly equalised when Aramide Oteh won the ball on the edge of the area and Dom Telford's shot fron 22 yards was tipped past the post by Max Crocombe.
George Lloyd beat Joel Lynch for pace at the start of the 2nd half but his curling shot crashed back off the far post.

FT Crawley 1-1 Grimsby
Crawley were very poor and incredibly lucky to get a point. Grimsby should have won by at least 3 goals, but a fortunate late penalty rescued a point for the home side.

FT: Crawley Town 1 Grimsby Town 1 (HT: 0-1)
Attendance: 2,668 (329 Grimsby Fans)
Possession: 49:51%
Grimsby should have won this game comfortably and been 3 or 4-0 up before Jack Powell in the 89th minute chipped a great ball into the area for Tom Fellows and Niall Maher recklessly tried to slide in and make a challenge and brought Fellows down for a penalty. Dom Telford's spot kick was fairly weak and down the middle but Max Crocombe was already going to his left. He stuck out an arm but the ball bounced off it to roll softly into the net for Telford's 9th league goal of the season. This was daylight robbery by Crawley as the Mariners had 6 good chances in the 2nd half to add to their half time lead.
George Lloyd beat Joel Lynch for pace at the start of the 2nd half but his curling shot crashed back off the far post. Harry Clifton put Otis Khan clean through on goal but Corey Addai made a good save. George Lloyd shot wide from Mikey O'Neill's cross from the right. George Lloyd then crossed a great ball from the right to Harry Clifton on his own in front of goal but Addai made another good save. Grimsby counter attacked from a Crawley corner after Joel Lynch was caught in possession and Byrn Morris played a ball to Harry Clifton running in on goal but he put his shot wide of the far post. Josh Emmanuel then found Mikey O'Neill on the edge of the area but he blasted over.
Grimsby should have won at Field Mill and Crawley.
Grimsby MOM: Harry Clifton and George Lloyd. Harry Clifton scored his 7th league goal from midfield. Josh Emmanuel is a decent right wing back. John McAtee was below average after a good start. He was subbed on 69 minutes. Otis Khan missed a couple of good chances and was subbed on 62 minutes.
Crawley MOM: The sponsors gave it to centre half Joel Lynch. Whoscored gave it to left back Mazeed Ogungbo. Jack Powell is a good midfield player but he had a below average game for him before his pass to Tom Fellows for the penalty. Kellan Gordon hardly featured in the game. He provided one decent cross. Clifton skipped by him easily in the 2nd half after making a good interception and Kellan made no effort to get back.

If we beat Crawley on Saturday the creepy manager will blame tiredness from playing an extra game mid week. If we lose, Clough will say they were fresher and fitter from a mid week game.

1-1 now, we could definitely do with this being a draw

I didn't have time to watch it. Tippy Tappy may have done.

It’s only really of use if we actually win tomorrow rather than producing another miserable, sobering experience at field mill.
We’ve got crawley and rochdale up next 2 games, go make it count lads!
