So is it a him problem or a mansfield problem?

I think it comes down to style of play. We play football where out forwards get involved in winning the ball back and building up play. Johnson wasn’t very good at that for us.

So what we’ve learnt in these three pages is DJ scores goals and people still can’t use the quote facility properly on here  :D

So Walsall have scored 7 goals, 6 by DJ, 1 a n other

We have scored 6 goals, 5 different scorers.

I know which place I'd rather be in, ours.

Looking at his points per goal ratio is quite interesting.
Yes he has 5 league goals but although impressive, has only yielded 1 point for Walsall.

Harbottle has 2 for 3 points.
Lapslie has 1 for 1 point.
Maris has 1 for 2 points.

So as mentioned, although impressive only 1 of those goals has resulted in one point to Walsalls tally.

This is the thing about NCs system - when we're not converting chances it looks like there's a glaring hole for a striker, when we convert the chances we make then there isn't.

No mention of him scoring this weekend so checked FOTMOB to see.

He didn’t and got a match rating of 5.5.

He touched the ball 12 times, missed a penalty early on and had 2 other shots( 1 on target).

Seems like the main issues are:

- a player who's face doesn't fit, fallen out with the gaffer, or it just doesn't work out at the club
- a manager who likes to select certain favourites

While hugely perplexing, it does sound like the vast majority of clubs across the country ;)
If i look in pain it's because i'm thinking

He needs to keep doing well, and become an integral part of their team. So that we receive a good fee for him.

Technically it was saved rather than missed the goal.

Context of goals = All poacher goals, and mainly tap ins. NC imo was spot on with letting him go.

Lapslie much better and not played by us as a Centre forward

Swan can score inside the 6 yard box, scare defences, pace, etc etc

Gale has a way better touch, pass, and shown a quality finish

Cant remember the game, but Akins last minute chip up and volley near miss was quality too

Never seen DJ show skill like that

Spot on who said let’s hope DJ continues with the tap ins and grab the money.

I always thought DJ was lazy and not very mobile which was why he didn't play. It was an awful penalty miss too. As Kernow said, he's history.
