I wonder if Murphy knew about it or if we just chucked him out the coach as a surprise

This is neither a surprise nor a disappointment
Scored in front of the North Stand in April 1993. I was a Mascot but they all count.

That's a relief to be honest! Good luck to him but I thought he was poor for us

Think people are being a bit harsh here. It's not easy coming into a winning side, with lots of expectations of performances, and doing it straight away. He clearly wasn't fit to start with and if one or two of his missed chances had gone in he might have kicked on.

That said, I'd rather we have a younger, more driven player in that position. Unfortunately, he'll be mostly remembered for missing sitters, particularly the one at Wembley.

It just didn’t work out for him, a bit like akins at times you wondered whether there was something in his contract saying he had to play as the performances certainly didn’t warrant the starts he was given.

Wish the lad all the best, but can’t say i’m disappointed.

Don’t think he was fully fit when he came, maybe would have come good with a full pre-season but think Boateng should be a better fit for the type of football we play

Good luck Jamie, shame it didn't work out for you while you were here..

If only you'd have scored at Wembley, could have been a legend! oh well

Looking at the photo, it must have been the 4 sided ground that tempted him

But clough still played him in front of Maris and Clarke who you’d presume where fit sat on the bench … I thought Longstaff was lucky to start although the few goals he got probably swayed it , Murphy on the other hand was damn right awful and shouldn’t have been anywhere near the bench never mind the starting eleven.. says a lot about Scottish football in general

At the time looked a good signing and to be fair he was not a disaster but as previously said sometimes it does not work out
He may well have a very good season and score many Caledonian goals
Don’t think it was ever on the cards to sign him anyway unless he had been a marvel

You should look at the teams in the Europa League Final last season and also ask Borussia Dortmund about Glasgow Rangers.

Dan don’t start talking nonsense there’s only two teams up there who’d probably be championship level in general. The support of those two clubs is fantastic but without the premiership SKY MONEY LEAGUE nothing will ever change baring the odd furry in the poor man’s Europoo league …. They will never be let into the English leagues too many clubs protecting the dollar ..

I never understood League Two standard players going to play in Scottish Prem.
In EFL2 you've always got a chance of promotion, a trophy, maybe a Wembley trip, possibly become a club legend... in Scotland all you have is going to Glasgow 8+ times a year.
