How To: Place a Twitter Tweet in a Forum Post

Postby thon » Fri May 22, 2015 12:32 pm

You can place a 'Tweet' from Twitter directly into a forum post, as follows:

  1. Copy the address (URL) of the individual tweet (highlight & CRTL+C in your web browser's address bar)

  2. Click the 'tweet' button in the forum post-editor window

  3. Paste the copied URL between the tweet 'tags' in your post

Then submit your post.

You have then worked some Twitter magic, like this:

Other ways to copy a Tweet address (URL)
Copying the Tweet URL directly from the address bar of your web browser is the surest way to grab the Tweet's address, however it is not the only way to do it.

These alternative methods will also do the job; just make sure that the URL that you end up with looks like this:

Alternative Methods

Using the 'Copy link to Tweet' button on a Tweet (Desktop browsers only)

Right-clicking (or long-pressing on a mobile device) on the elapsed time of a tweet, and hitting 'copy link' (wording varies)

But sometimes when looking at tweets, the time is shown in full, and you can copy the URL from here, too

If using the Twitter mobile app, long-press on the title area of the Tweet, and select 'Copy Link to Tweet'
