MOVE over Will Young and Gareth Gates - here come Mansfield Town. Stuart Watkiss' young squad were at Mansfield's Bandwagon Studios this wek to record a CD which it is hoped will raise funds for the Stags Community Fund.

Also, with promotion still a possibility, it could end up being a celebratory release.

The Staks Kick Mix CD is a 28-minute dance/rap mix combining choruses from Field Mill favourites 'We Will Rick You' and 'Simply the Best' with lead vocals from Jonathan Edwards, of Annesley's Ded Cred Studio, who produced the track along with Gary Martins.

An initial mix of the track will be played at the Carlisle game this saturday and it will then be on sale at HMV, Trax Records and the club shop in around three weeks time.

The CD is the brainchild of club chairman Keith Haslam and local MP Alan Meale and Mr Meale said: “We have a very young team at Field Mill and this is reflected by the sort of CD they are making. “It would be nice if we can go up and the CD comes out at the same time. “But people must remember that many of these youngf players are in their first full seasons and, whatever happens, they hve taken this club forward this season. “The CD will help raise some funds for the club's Community Trust so we hope all the fans will buy a copy. “The Fund is nothing to with the club's commercial activities. “It is a registered charity and funds the club's activities in the communuty including youth clubs, schools and funding other projects. This Trust has already given away £15,000 this season.”
