Walsall Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of former Championship defender Hayden White on a permanent deal from Mansfield Town.
(correction by Martin - he was not signed from Mansfield, he was previously released by Mansfield).

The 25-year-old right-back spent three and a half years at the One Call stadium where he featured 86 times, helping them reach the League Two play-off semi-finals in 2019.

White made his professional debut at Bolton Wanderers in 2013 and went on to play five times in the Championship.

He gained experience on loan at Carlisle United, Bury, Notts County and Blackpool before moving to Peterborough United on a permanent deal in 2016.

The former Bolton man is excited to join the Saddlers and can’t wait to get started.

“I’m delighted to be able come here and show what I can do,” he said.

“I like to defend, keep clean sheets and I’m here to do that.

“I’ve had a few conversations with the manager about where he thinks I can get to and how I can help the team and everything he said has been really positive so I’m happy to be here.

Saddlers boss Darrell Clarke was pleased to be able add more strength in depth to his defence and is looking forward to working with the former Bolton man.

“I’m really pleased to add Hayden to the squad,” Clarke added.

“He’s a talented player who will give us depth and competition in defence and he will be a great addition to the team.”

White will wear the number 24 shirt.
