TANKARD PAID UP
25th February 2003 15:24

25 Feb 2003
mansfieldtown.net reports that Keith Curle today announced that Allen Tankard has had his contract paid up. Tankard has today been in talks with the Stags manager, and agreed on a settlement to have his remaining six months paid up, possibly to free up some cash for future incoming.
Curle said this afternoon “We have ensured that Allen is back to full fitness before coming to this decision. So the Physio and Allen have been working hard to get him back to fitness to give him the opportunity to find another club and progress with his career. This is a mutual parting of the ways with no bad feelings. I have played against Allen on a few occasions and have the utmost respect for him as a person, a player and a professional and I wish him all the best of luck for his future advancement in his career.”
“The physio has ensured that he is fully fit and physically able to ply his trade elsewhere and with his attitude which is first class he should find a club fairly soon.”
Tankard told mansfieldtown.net: “I am a little disappointed but I have missed all this season with injury and would like to thank the fans for all the concern they have shown towards me throughout my absence and would hope that they remember me as part of the squad who got Mansfield Town promoted to Division 2. It was a pleasure to serve with the lads and play for the Stags, and I wish Mansfield Town all the best for the rest of the season and next year's campaign”.
