Fans Set To Honour Legendary Supporter Once Again
March 26, 2017

The legend of Chris Taylor will once again be remembered this coming April, when a 20-strong group of Stags supporters will pay tribute to the man, by sponsoring the match ball for the vital home clash with Exeter City on Saturday 1st April, in his honour.

In what will be the second anniversary of Chris’s passing, Mansfield Town fanzine DejaVu have once again returned from retirement and will mark the day by remembering all the good that Chris did for them and many other Stags supporters over the years.

Following on from last year’s trip to Hartlepool, where a coach was run in Chris’s honour, and also saw the return of the fanzine for a one off special version, the day will this time be played out on ‘home soil’ as the Stags look to bid for more points for their play off push.

One time DejaVu editor Michael Norwood, explained a little more about the 2nd gathering of some old faces for what is the second anniversary now of Chris’s passing, “It would have been hard to follow up last year’s tremendous success of the outing to Hartlepool and the outstanding response to the fanzine making a return in full colour, but we couldn’t let another year just pass on by, without some sort of event to keep Chris at the forefront of our thoughts. I have tried to do something a little less public, but at the same time to sell out the sponsors lounge allocation for the match ball experience quite quickly, was testament again to how much Chris was well liked around these parts.”
