James Jennings talks to Radio Nottingham after his release from Mansfield Town audio here: http://stagsnet.net/interviews/Jennings_postrelease_14May14.mp3 James Jennings told BBC Radio Nottingham: "Disappointed. It would have been nice for him (Cox) to tell me, given my time at Mansfield has been successful and I've always given 100%. Yes it is disappointing he's not told me, but it doesn't surprise me because these things happen, so we move on. He (Cox)'s obviously chosen not to make the call, he's left it with Adam Murray to deal with, that's his choice. People do their business in different ways, and that's the way Paul's done his. I was verbally offered a new contract four weeks ago from the chairman which has made things a little more strange because when I was suspended after the Hartlepool game, after I scored the two goals, I saw the chairman in the directors room and he made his thoughts clear that we needed to sort a new contract out. He was quite happy with that and happy with my progress in the latter part of the season so he was keen to come over to tell me that. Since then nothing materialised." |
