Bulls Tribunal Disappointment
Mon 23 Sep 2013

FA tribunal hearings were held today to decide the transfer fees for former Bulls players Sam Clucas and Ryan Bowman.

Hereford United will receive £20,000 each for Clucas and Bowman, plus a 15% sell-on clause should they move on from their present clubs, Mansfield Town and York City.

Bulls Chairman David Keyte told the Official Hereford United Website: "We are rather disappointed. The decisions are both confusing and inconsistent. But we have to accept them and move forwards."

Mansfield Town told to pay Hereford £20,000 compensation for Sam Clucas deal by FA tribunal

Mansfield Town boss Paul Cox has described the £20,000 compensation fee for the transfer of Sam Clucas as ‘a great deal for the club’.

The fee was set following an FA Tribunal on Monday which ruled Stags must pay Hereford United £20,000 and 15 per cent of any future sale of the influential playmaker.

Clucas joined Mansfield in June 2013 and has rapidly become one of the side’s star players, scoring four goals in his last four outings.

Cox said: “It was an excellent result for the club. Everyone knows what Sam Clucas is about and what he can do. He is going to go on to play at a much higher level.

“I am over the moon with the result. He is a player that has developed well because he is working hard and listening.

“If he keeps working hard and doing what he is doing then he has a very bright future.”

Clucas, who spent six years at Leicester City’s academy, made his professional debut for Lincoln City in a 1-0 defeat against Darlington in the JP Trophy.
