New Mansfield player-manager Keith Curle celebrated his first league match in charge with only the bottom of the table club's fifth win of the season to leave out of sorts Blackpool without a victory in six league matches.
The Stags were given a helping hand by Seasiders defender Chris Clarke's 52nd minute red card for bringing down Iyseden Christie on the edge of the area.
Before Clarke's dismissal the home side had been hanging on to Christie's breakthrough but then the floodgates opened and after Neil McKenzie had crashed the resulting free-kick from Clarke's red card against the post, the home side ran riot.
In the 57th minute Liam Lawrence hooked in Wayne Corden's pass and then substitute Colin Larkin twice raced clear to strike fine solo goals in the 73rd and 76th minutes.
The Stags had been given the best possible start in the ninth minute when Blackpool keeper Michael Theoklitos failed to cut out a looping cross from debutante Adam Eaton and Christie headed in his 14th goal of the season.
McKenzie and Lawrence then squandered clear chances to double the home side's lead and they were almost made to pay as the Seasiders fought back just before half time.
First Paul Dalglish's dipping volley brushed the bar from Martin Bullock's half-cleared cross and then Scott Taylor twice went close to an equaliser.
He charged down keeper Kevin Pilkington's clearance only for the ball to bobble wide and then in stoppage time the striker curled his shot past the post with just the keeper to beat.

Four-star Stags hit Seasiders
Struggling Mansfield claimed three crucial points with a stunning 4-0 demolition of Steve McMahon's Blackpool.
Striker Iyseden Christie opened the scoring in the ninth minute with his 14th goal of the season, leaping above goalkeeper Michael Theoklitos to head into the empty net.
Blackpool's hopes were effectively ended eight minutes after the break when Chris Clarke was sent off for his second foul on Christie in less than a minute, and Liam Lawrence compounded their woes by doubling Mansfield's lead three minutes later.
Substitute Colin Larkin improved the scoreline within minutes of coming off the bench, finding the net with a powerful strike in the 74th minute.
And moments later he poked the ball past Michael Theoklitos to cap an impressive performance.
