Avid Mansfield Town fans can relive April’s momentous Conference Championship win by purchasing a new book.
Stag Party: The Inside Story of Mansfield Town’s Return to the Football League is a behind-the-scenes account of the Yellows’ incredible surge back into the ‘big time’ under the leadership of manager Paul Cox and chairman John Radford. The 264-page full-colour hardback publication covers the entire 2012-13 campaign, including pre-season and the aftermath, from the low of FA Trophy exit at the hands of Evo-Stik League club Matlock Town to the unforgettable high of the crucial stoppage-time winner at Hereford United. Penned by award-winning former Nottingham Post writer Matt Halfpenny - who covered the Stags across the country between 2006 and 2012 - it features exclusive views from all of the central characters involved, including Cox and Radford, players Matt Green, Adam Murray, Alan Marriott and Lee Beevers, groundsman Michael Merriman and the SSA’s Martin Shaw, plus a selection of fans. Priced at £17.99, the publication also includes 24 pages of vivid, full-colour pictures, kindly supplied by Richard Parkes, JMS Photography and Will Kilpatrick Photography, which capture all the memorable action from one of Mansfield’s most exciting seasons ever.
