VIDEO: Gaffer looking for response ---> http://www.mansfieldtown.net/page/FromTheBoss/0,,10325~2545142,00.html Mon 12 Dec 2011 Paul Cox is looking for a response from his players after Saturday's FA Trophy exit at the hands of Droylsden. The manager was speaking at this morning's press meeting from Field Mill. Jason Harrison (Mansfield 103.2) and John Lomas (Chad) are asking the questions. ------------- Stags are happy to hit the road Nottingham Post, Tuesday, December 13, 2011 ALAN Marriott is not surprised Mansfield Town's away form is just as productive as playing at Field Mill. http://www.thisisnottingham.co.uk/story-14123348-detail/story.html The Stags have taken 18 points from their 11 games on the road, compared to 19 from 12 in north Nottinghamshire. ?Marriott feels the weight of expectation can make it hard in front of the home fans, while the pressure is less for the players on their travels. Mansfield play their final away game before Christmas when they visit Southport on Saturday. They will look to protect a record that has not seen them lose on their travels in the league since their journey to Gateshead in August. "I think we do find it quite difficult to play at home because the expectations are so high from our supporters," said Marriott. "But that is always going to be the case at any club that has been in the Football League because they want to get back there. "When we are away everyone tends to relax just that little bit more and the onus is on other teams to attack. "The other thing that makes it tough at Field Mill is that a lot of teams come and get bodies behind the ball. "Going away from home, teams have to come out at you a bit more." ----------------- |
