Football hooligans slapped with match bans
CHAD, Wednesday 9 November 2011 FOOTBALL fans involved in violence ahead of a Mansfield Town FC away game have been banned from the game. http://www.chad.co.uk/news/local/football_hooligans_slapped_with_match_bans_1_3953472 They were among a total of 11 defendants who were sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court on Monday for their part in violence in Newport town centre before a match between Newport County and Mansfield Town in September 2010. David Butler (43) of Brick Kiln Lane, Mansfield, was given a 36-week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months. He was given a supervision order and will be under curfew from 8pm until 5am for a period of 12 weeks. The same sentence was handed down to Steven Milbourne, 22, of Alexandra Street, Kirkby-in-Ashfield. David Michael Millitt (52) of Mickledale Lane, Bilsthorpe, was given a 36-week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months. He was also ordered to complete 200 hours community service. All three were banned from attending football matches anywhere in the country and wherever the England national team play abroad for three years. Paul Anthony White (40) of Lindrick Close, Mansfield, received a 36-week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months. He was ordered to carry out 200 hours of community service and given prohibitive activity order which prevents him from attending any Mansfield Town or England match in England and Wales for 12 months. Alan Strouther (49) of Southwell Road East, Mansfield, received a 36-week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, and was ordered to carry out 200 hours of community service. All five were ordered to pay costs of £750. Kyle Bingley (19) of Cherry Grove, Mansfield, was given a 26-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, and a 12 month community order. He was also served with a 12-month prohibitive activity order. He was ordered to pay costs of £500.
