We believe this is the first such link between an English and American club. Bellingham United are keen to use our expertise and knowledge as they continue to establish themselves in a country where football is still a minority sport.

Bellingham's Jeff McIntyre approached ourselves due to his strong links with our mutual supplier Teritex Sportswear, based in Boughton.

To mark this footballing union, representatives of Bellingham United Jeff McIntyre and Erin O'Brien will fly over the Atlantic to be with us, and along with representatives of Teritex Sportswear be our matchball sponsors tonight v AFC Telford. In addition commemorative 50/50 MTFC and Bellingham FC scarves have been produced for the event.

Based in the state of Washington, Bellingham FC plies its trade in the Pacific Coast Soccer League and have chosen us in order to build their identity and progress their international development.

Director Darren Bland, who has been instrumental in creating this exchange of ideas, said: "We are delighted to welcome our American friends to attend in person a BSBP fixture, and thank Teritex for their introduction to us.

"This is an exciting time for both us and them as we forge a mutually beneficial relationship and achieve some exposure on an international level."

"This is a completely cash less pure football arrangement, Jeff and Erin are very passionate football fans committed to the game and its growth in the US. Both teams will allow each other information exchanges, facility and staff access if required, and in theory the possibility of future exchanges and support with any tour either team may want to make."
