And in former Oxford United man Murray, he feels he has the ideal man. "Adam has done really well in pre-season and I am one of these people on what they do," said Cox. "It's been a clean sweep of the board and he has done everything asked of him. "He's been a leader on the training ground and the pitch and his performances have warranted it, "He's not proven a point to me because the proof of the pudding is coming into the Christmas period, who is in the side then. "All I can comment on is what I have seen of Adam Murray up until this stage and he has been excellent and done well in everything I have asked him to do. "When we have got a fit and strong Adam Murray we have got one of the better midfielders at this level of football." Murray, who is in his third spell at Field Mill, showed his true fighting spirit in last season's FA Trophy final defeat against Darlington when he battled on against injury to give his all for the cause Boss Paul Cox said: “Murray has done really well in pre-season and has done everything I have asked of him. “He has been a leader both on the training ground and on the pitch and he deserves to be the captain. “Adam Murray is one of the best midfielders at this level when he is fully fit and he will do a good job as captain.” ----------------- |
