Bath City are proud to announce the signing of defender/midfielder Paul Stonehouse to a one year contract.

Stonehouse, who can play as centre half, left back or left midfield, spent last season at Mansfield Town.

Previously he has played for Forest Green Rovers (where he made over 170 appearances), Gloucester City, Yate Town and Cinderford Town. He also holds the record for the youngest player to make 100 appearances in the Football Conference.

Manager Adie Britton says: “I've been following Paul for five or six years. I first saw him when he went on loan to Yate from FGR and I saw him a number of times. I was impressed then but he showed rapid improvement over the next 18-24 months. He was under 24 then, so I thought I had no chance to sign him.

“He earned himself a good move this time last year to Mansfield, but unfortunately for him he's been unsettled there and wanted to return home to Swindon. This has given us an opportunity to approach him once more and I'm pleased to announce that we've reached agreement in the last twenty-four hours.

“He'll give us balance on the left hand side and is a fierce competitor with good ability on the ball going forward. I'm sure he'll settle quickly into our environment and we're delighted he's on board.”
