Although still under contract at Field Mill for next season, the 21-year-old is unlikely to feature in Cox's plans in the forthcoming campaign and therefore his details have been circulated to other clubs.

We would like to thank him for his efforts during his time here and wish him all the best in his future career.

Mitchley made eight starts and nine appearances from the bench for us last season scoring two goals.

A full squad retained list is to be published on Tuesday (May 31st) which will be brought to you first by mansfieldtown.net

Pringle 'no' to Stags signing
Evening Post, 27 May 2011

MANSFIELD Town will not be signing Derby County midfielder Ben Pringle, Paul Cox confirmed today.

The Stags boss has contacted the agent of the former Ilkeston Town player, who has been given a free transfer by the Rams.

But Pringle, who turns 22 today and made 20 senior appearances at Pride Park, is expected to join a League One or League Two club.

"I have enquired about him, but he is not going to be signing for us, as there are plenty of clubs in higher leagues interested," said Cox.

"That is understandable with him having been in the Championship with Derby.

"But I am looking to get good players in at Mansfield and if they are available at the right price, I will bring them in."

Another name Cox is keeping an eye on is Ben Hutchinson, who he coached as a youth team player at Eastwood Town.

The 23-year-old forward eventually earned a move from Arnold Town to Middlesbrough and has now left Celtic following a three-year stint north of the border.

Cox added: "Ben is one to keep an eye on. There is a massive number of clubs between us and Celtic's level.

"It could be that he has a fair few offers, but it may be that he has to cut his cloth accordingly.

"He has to understand that he had dropped down to play for Lincoln on loan last season.

"We will monitor it because he is a local boy and if he is looking to come back this way I had a good relationship with him before.

"Someone of Ben Hutchinson's quality is obviously going to enhance any team at this level."

Mansfield will return to pre-season training on July 1 with away friendlies already lined up at Halifax, Worksop and Ilkeston.

It is hoped Sheffield United, Forest and Notts County will be among the teams to visit Field Mill.
