Alan Marriott may be fit in time for our FA Trophy Final at Wembley Stadium on May 07, Physio Jason Truscott has revealed.

The 32-year-old shot stopper played for the first time in six months during Saturday's 2-1 win at home to Rushden & Diamonds before being taken off with a suspected broken finger after just 40 minutes.

After seeing a consultant this afternoon at King's Mill Hospital, Physio Jason Truscott has revealed that the injury may now not be as bad as first feared.

Said Jason: "There is a crack in his wedding finger which will need to heel before the Wembley final. We must control the swelling, first and foremost.

"The consultant has advised that he [Alan Marriott] is to be rest for two to three weeks and then resume some light training thereafter, with a view of being ready for Wembley.

"It is difficult to say for certain at this stage whether or not Alan will be fully fit in time for Wembley, but we will work hard from now until then to ensure he has the best possible chance of being ready. He is a big player for us and it is important that we have him available" he added
