The Chairman writes:

"Subscribers to the Premier Sports TV certainly got their monies' worth on Saturday night with a thrilling first half which saw us fight back impressively to gain a point at home to Newport County.

"If your glass is half-empty you could be thinking that this evening's game could be our last at Field Mill. I remain confident, however, ahead of this Thursday's court case.

"In addition to my programme notes on Saturday evening with regards to potential new directors, I would like to clarify the reasons for looking for new Board members. It is really quite simple: four or five business brains are better than one. I also cannot be at the Football Club all of the time and extra Board members will allow me to share the workload. I will remain the controlling shareholder of the club and additional directors will offer different contacts in the business world which can be explored for sponsorship opportunities.

"The club will also benefit from the nous and experience which they can bring from their own particular field of expertise. It is as simple as that. Fresh investment as well as new ideas, along with my own, can only be good for this club, and should everyone move forward together, then success at Field Mill will take care of itself."

Chairman John Radford remains fully committed to the Stags
Evening Post, 16 Feb 2011

MANSFIELD Town chairman and owner John Radford has scotched rumours he is about to pull out of the club.

Posts on a supporters' internet message board earlier this week suggested the Doncaster-based businessman was considering stepping down.

But Radford is instead keen to push on with his ambitions of helping the Stags back into the Football League – and is keen to bring in new directors to help.

In his programme notes for last night's postponed game with Barrow, he explained his reasons for seeking new board members.

"It really is quite simple: Four or five business brains are better than one," said Radford.

"I also cannot be at the club all of the time and extra board members will allow me to share the workload.

"I will remain the controlling shareholder of the club and additional directors will offer different contacts in the business world which can be explored for sponsorship opportunities.

"The club will also benefit from the nous and experience which they can bring from their own particular field of expertise.

"Fresh investment as well as new ideas, along with my own, can only be good for this club, and should everyone move forward together, then success at Field Mill will take care of itself."

The Barrow clash was called off early yesterday morning with more rain making what was a heavy pitch during Saturday's 3-3 draw with Newport unplayable. It will now be played on Tuesday, April 12

Mansfield's first team squad will instead be involved in a friendly game with Paul Ince's Notts County.

Manager Duncan Russell said: "Naturally I'm disappointed the game was off, but it can't be helped and it was the right decision.

"Even on Saturday, your feet were sinking into the surface and at least the pitch will now get a couple of weeks' rest with two away games coming up.

"We have a game at Meadow Lane where I will play two teams for 45 minutes and it will give those players who have not been involved recently a good run out.

"It will also give the lads who have been out with injury and illness, including Adam Smith, Paul Stonehouse and Steve Foster, the chance to improve their fitness."

The club is basically up for sale to anyone that has 10k.For this you can buy 10% of MTFC.You will have to put 10k in per year.Very worrying indeed when the club is losing at present £7-800k per year. They are asking any tom ,dick and harry to come on board.5 people and JR no longer owns the club.I just dont understand it at all.Its no big secret im suprised it aint in the ad-mag.
