Promising defender Tom Naylor has joined high flyers Alfreton Town on a month's loan.

The 19-year-old has made just one start this season, replacing captain Steve Foster in our 1-1 draw at Gateshead.

Speaking to http://www.mansfieldtown.net, Tom said: "I am in need of match minutes and this move will enable me to get some games under my belt.

"I am pleased to be joining a team who are doing so well this season," he added.

"Tom's progression has been fantastic over the last two seasons," said manager David Holdsworth.

"He is now better equipped to deal with the different elements of football. This loan move will be of a good benefit to him," he added.

Derbyshire outfit Alfreton currently sit top of the Conference North

MANSFIELD Town defender Tom Naylor has joined Alfreton Town on a one-month loan deal.

The 19-year-old has made just one start for the Stags in Blue Square Premier this season, so is looking forward to his spell with the current leaders of Blue Square North.

He said: "I need to get some games under my belt and I'm pleased to be joining a team who are doing so well this season."

Mansfield Town defender Tom Naylor has joined Blue Square Bet North side Alfreton Town on a one-month loan deal.

The 19-year-old has made one start for the Stags this season, as a replacement for captain Steve Foster in their 1-1 draw at Gateshead.

Naylor told the club website: "I am in need of match minutes and this move will enable me to get some games under my belt.

"I am pleased to be joining a team who are doing so well this season."

Stags manager David Holdsworth said the youngster's progression has been "fantastic" over the past two seasons.

"He is now better equipped to deal with the different elements of football. This loan move will be of a good benefit to him," he said.

Nicky Law's Alfreton are currently one point clear at the top of the Blue Square Bet North with a game in hand over second-placed Boston United.

ALFRETON Town manager Nicky Law has welcomed the arrival of central defender Tom Naylor on a month's loan from neighbours Mansfield Town.

Naylor, 18, is expected to make his debut in this tomorrow's big top-of-the-table clash against AFC Telford United at the Impact Arena.

The Reds boss said: "He is someone we have had thoughts on for a long time.

"It is a very good opportunity for him to come and get a few games under his belt while helping us out too."
