The 24-year-old played the last five minutes in England's 1-0 win, which sees them qualify for the semi final of the International Challenge Trophy.

He missed Saturday's defeat to Rushden & Diamonds with a virus, but recovered in time to play a part in the Three Lions' victory.

Speaking to mansfieldtown.net from an Estonian airport, Nix said: "I was in bed from Wednesday until Saturday, so was fortunate to travel with the England team.

"I was allocated my own room [for England] to avoid any one else catching the last few stages of the bug."

Nix has declared that he has now recovered and set to regain his place in the team.

"I feel fine. I was a little tired when I came on, but that's all.I am still on antibiotics but will be ready to contend for a place in Saturday's starting 11 against Darlington."

"It's all about me getting back in the Mansfield team now," he added.

He is expected to arrive back in his Sheffield home this evening.
