Prices up, but discounts on offer for Stags season tickets
CHAD.co.uk, 31 March 2010
INEVITABLY Mansfield Town season ticket prices are going up, but savings of up to £154 on match day prices can still be made.

Massive savings of up to 37% can be made should you reserve your seat by Friday, 30th April.

The club have also announced that U7s will be allowed in to every league match for free, when accompanied by a paying adult.

The board of directors today announced season ticket packages they feel are value but also give David Holdsworth's team a good chance of success.

A statement from the board read: "Our fans are no different from those around the country and expect value for money and honesty.

"Last season the club offered a fantastic offer to the people of Mansfield with the lowest priced tickets we have seen in years. This was well received by the fans and we have averaged gates over 3000.

"However due to the increased overheads and the loss of TV revenue, it left the club short of matchday revenue and us, as owners, have had to dig deep to pay the bills.

"With this in mind, it has been decided that prices had to rise in order to sustain a professional club in this town.

"There are still, however, great savings to be made with the early bird prices that are on offer until the end of April.

"These prices offer an average saving of up to 30% and are still good value for money and makes a great day out for all the family.

"On this point we now have a section in the lower Ian Greaves Stand that will only be available for those that want a family environment.

"We have also made the Quarry Lane End the cheapest stand in the stadium for those on tighter budgets. We ask the fans to give us the same backing as they did last year and together we can rise from the ashes and continue to support our club."

Early Bird Ian Greaves Stand upper tickets are £260, lower £240 and Quarry Lane £230 with concessions £150 and U16s £70. Those prices will rise by £20 on 1st May. Matchday prices are Ian Greaves upper £18, £12 and £9, lower are £17, £12 and £8 and Quarry Lane £15, £12 and £7.

U16s and U7s must produce ID to buy tickets. Season tickets can be bought over three months with a deposit equivalent to one month equal payment.

Stags season tickets
Evening Post, March 31, 2010

MANSFIELD Town have released their season ticket prices for next season – and there will be no repeat of their cut-price scheme for 2009-10.

The Stags attempted to fill Field Mill by slashing costs for those supporters prepared to tie their fortunes to the club for the whole campaign.
It has ensured the club has averaged more than 3,000 for home gates this season.
But the Mansfield board of directors has indicated they have been forced to lift prices back up to compare with other clubs for 2010-11, because of a loss of television revenue and increased overheads.
Fans can still get a significant reduction, up to 37 per cent, if they purchase their season ticket for next season before Friday April 30.
An adult ticket in the Quarry Lane Stand is £230 and in the Ian Greaves Stand, sponsored by Napit, starts at £240.
And all under sevens will gain free admission when accompanied by a paying adult.
A statement from the Stags' board said: "It is that time of the year when all football fans await the prices of the new season tickets. Our fans are no different from those around the country and expect value for money and honesty.
"Football has had a big wake-up call this year with the demise of several clubs, most notably Chester City in our own division, and has to become more accountable for its own destiny.
"This season the club offered a fantastic offer to the people of Mansfield with the lowest priced tickets we have seen in years. This was well received by the fans and we have averaged gates over 3,000.
"However, due to the increased overheads and the loss of TV revenue, it left the club short of match-day revenue and us, as owners, have had to dig deep to pay the bills.
"With this in mind, it has been decided that prices had to rise in order to sustain a professional club in this town.
"There are still, however, great savings to be made on match-day prices and a chance to secure your regular seat with the early bird prices that are on offer until the end of April."
The club confirmed they will set aside a section in the lower tier of the Ian Greaves Stand as a family area.
The club also hope home fans will gather in their numbers in the Quarry Lane Stand.
The statement added: "The family section is a small stride the club are making that they hope will improve the experience at Field Mill.
"We have made the Quarry Lane end the cheapest stand in the stadium and this could end up being the New Kop end, where fans traditionally gather to cheer on the team.
"The club has come a long way in the last two years and we are working hard to achieve the ultimate goal of rising back into the Football League.
"We ask the fans to give us the same backing as they have this year and together we can rise from the ashes and continue to support our club."
