Foster exit on the cards
Teamtalk, 5 April 2002
Pirates defender Steve Foster has been linked with a return to his former club Mansfield Town, although Notts County are also interested.
Ironically the two teams face each other at Field Mill on Saturday with Rovers hoping to put together back-to-back wins after beating Kidderminster on Easter Monday.
Foster was put on the transfer list last month as Garry Thompson began to trim his squad and reduce his wage bill.
While Foster has been one of the club's most consistent players since his £150,000 transfer from Woking in August 1997, it is believed he is among the higher earners at the club.
Second Division strugglers Notts County are also believed to be watching Foster closely with a view to next season.
