Leicester City new boys Dany N'Guessan and Richie Wellens see their first pre-season action when the Foxes face Mansfield Town at Field Mill tonight (7.45).

And defender Alexsander Tunchev will also be taking some part of the game against the Stags as he has returned to full fitness ater last season's serious knee injury with young midfielder Andy King playing his first pre-season game.

It is a very strong squad, fresh from last week's intensive training trip to Slovenia and City boss Nigel Pearson said: "This game, and Saturday's match at Shrewsbury, is about giving as many players as possible the right on-field time and while they are really training games, we will be treating them competitively.

"Later we will start tweaking the team up to the Real Valladolid game.

"Dany N'Guessan, Richie Wellens, Andy King and Aklexsander Tunchev will all play some part in what is really another training game."

Striker Matty Fryatt and Matt Oakley are not in action tonight but Pearson said: "It is all about balancing all the players' pitch time over all the build-up games."

In an odd quirk, the Stags' kit suppliers Canterbury have gone into adminstration, leaving them with no kit. Subsequently, they have asked City to play in blue instead of black as originally planned.

City squad: Weale, Pentney, Logan, O'Neill, Morrison, Tunchev, Hobbs, Brown, Wesolowski, Berner, N'Guessan, Gradel, A.King, Wellens.

City fans will have to wait a little longer to see the new away kit.

They were due to wear the black shirt with a strong diagonal stripe in light blue tonight.

However, they will now play in their home blue kit after a plea from hosts Mansfield.

A Mansfield spokesman siad: "Our new home strip was coming from manufacturers Canterbury but the company has gone into liquidation and it has left us without a home kit.

"We're going to wear our new away kit instead and I understand there may have been a colour clash."
