STAGS DENY OFFER FOR ANTON FOSTER
13th June 2009 11:15

11Jun2009. Writing on the Stagsnet messageboard, Andy Perry said: "Its not true. The gaffer enquired about the lad and that's as far as it went. We knew about the option in his contract but we had not gone as far as discussing money. He enquires about a lot of players but it doesn't always mean he is going to sign them."

Story from official Eastwood Town Football Club website --->

Anton Foster's proposed move to Mansfield has hit the buffers after the two clubs failed to reach an agreement on how the transfer fee would be paid, and for the time being at least Foster will remain at Coronation Park.
"I'm due to have a chat wth Fozzie this week. His move to Mansfield has broken down because Mansfield initially wanted to pay us less than we paid Buxton, then they asked to pay us in five installments which we turned down. We are not a selling club and there is always a balance between allowing a player to move to a higher level and what is best for the club. Therefore Fozzie is still an Eastwood player and I expect him to report for pre-season training and as far as I am concerned the door is still open for Anton. He is an excellent player, but I need to speak to him about what he wants to do," said manager Paul Cox.
