Stags launch major new ticket pricing initiative to beat credit crunch
CHAD.co.uk, 03 February 2009
By Tim Morriss

MANSFIELD Town have revealed details of a cut-price ticketing initiative aimed at bringing supporters back to Field Mill.
And it means fans - who have been calling on the new owners to reduce admission prices - could be watching the Stags for a lot less for the rest of the season.

Full story here.

New Stags manager David Holdsworth has persuaded the directors to back his success since joining the club by offering three special ticket deals to supporters:

A Holdsworth season ticket for the rest of the season

One offer on a match-by-match basis for season for season ticket holders

One offer on a match-by-match basis for non-season ticket holders

With three wins and a draw in his first four games in charge - and the prospect of further points on Saturday when the Stags play York City - Holdsworth is urging fans to get behind the team in the run in to the end of the season.

The manager and the club hope to attract more families to Field Mill with ticket prices designed to beat the credit crunch and make it easier for fans to get behind the team.

"Let's 'Fill the Mill' is an ambitious goal, but it's an aspiration that I have on my horizons," says Holdsworth. He added: "The impact of a big crowd on the performance of the team cannot be underestimated."

The offers are:

Season ticket holders only
Existing season ticket holders can now buy a Family Plus ticket for the remainder of this season. This will give an additional adult and 2 children entry for a total cost of just £14 in the Quarry Lane Stand and £16 in the West Stand. The ticket must be purchased in advance i.e. up until 12 noon on Saturday and 5pm on Tuesdays. It can be purchased on a match by match basis by existing season ticket holders.

Available: all remaining home games. Note a saving of either £18 on the normal ticket prices for each match.

Non season ticket holders

A new Family & Friends ticket is being introduced for the rest of this season. This must be purchased in advance i.e. up until 12 noon on Saturdays and 5pm on Tuesdays. The Quarry Lane Stand Family & Friends ticket will cost £30 for 2 adults and 2 children, and the West Stand £34 for 2 adults and 2 children.

Available: all remaining home games. Note a saving of either £18 or £16 on the normal ticket prices for each match

The Holdsworth Season Ticket

For the last 8 home matches the Holdsworth season ticket will be offered. Essentially the same as Option 2 BUT heavily discounted to give an incentive to support the Stags for the remainder of the season. The Quarry Lane Stand ticket will cost £168 for 2 adults and 2 children, and the West Stand £192 for 2 adults and 2 children.

Available: offer ends Thursday 12th February.

To help fans spread the cost, the Holdsworth season ticket can be purchased by making three separate payments either by debit card or credit card, or three post dated cheques

Any supporter buying the Holdsworth season ticket before 12noon on Saturday will be given a further incentive of FREE admission to the match against York - effectively nine tickets for the price of eight, BUT must be purchased in full i.e. £168 or £192.

Note a saving of either £264 or £276 on the normal ticket prices for the last nine games.
